About Us
Our Caring
Building Better Communities
American Cement Company is dedicated to building strong communities and making a positive difference where we live and work. We are actively involved in our communities through contributions, partnerships, and volunteerism.
At American Cement Company we provide the opportunity and encourage our employees to donate their time to both local and national philanthropic organizations, outreach programs, and other charitable functions. This gives our team members the opportunity to positively impact others and improve their own well-being.
Adopt-A-Highway
Our surroundings are extremely important to American Cement Company, so we take the time throughout the year to clean up our local highway. Our employees will volunteer their time over a weekend to join in on the fun and help pick up the debris left alongside County Road 470.

Education
Education is the utmost importance to American Cement Company. We involve ourselves in various philanthropic acts concerning teaching and culturing students. Our company contributed 4,000 pounds of cement to students at the University of South Florida for research projects and class studies.
American Cement Company provided school supplies to guarantee students in the Sumter County School District had the tools and resources necessary to succeed in the classroom. Although it is extremely important to donate physically demanded items, we feel donating our time is equally as vital. American Cement Company employees reached out to a local high school to participate in their annual Science Fair. Our Laboratory department offered their workspace to local students and teachers, while several employees volunteered their time to judge the Science Fair. We feel it is essential to foster the minds of our youth because they are our future.
Cancer Research
American Cancer Society's - Relay for Life
As a strong advocate in supporting cancer research, American Cement Company employee's have participated in the Sumter County's Relay for Life program. This 16 hour event brought our employees together to show support for those who have lost a loved one to cancer, who currently battle cancer and for those who have won the fight against cancer. In 2009, American Cement Company raised $3,300.00 for Sumter County's Relay for Life and received the Golden Shoe Award for being the only company to consistently walk all night.

Breast Cancer Awareness - Susan G. Komen for the Cure
With every 13 minutes that goes by, another woman loses her life to breast cancer. Every woman in this world is either someone's mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt; American Cement Company knows just how important it is to preserve these lives. For the month of October, our employees joined together to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation through the sale of Awareness t-shirts and hats, company fundraisers and monetary donations. It is our hope that by raising funds for continued research we will aid in the search for a cure.
Our Giving
Thanksgiving Food Drive
While normally our cement bags are filled with a chalky material, during the month of November we filled our trademarked bags with the essential ingredients needed to prepare a Thanksgiving Feast. Our employees collected and delivered more than 400 pounds of food to the Benevolence Center at the Christrian Care Center in Leesburg. Our hearts went out to all the individuals and families who are struggling and we wanted to help make a difference in their lives.

Holiday Toy Drive - Children's Home Society
American Cement Company knows the importance of making a difference in a child's life. Every holiday season each department in our company sponsors a child from the Children's Home Society of Central Florida. We collect toys, clothes, books and additional items from the child's wish list to ensure that this child feels special at this time of year.
